The Avon, Ohio location consists of 175 units: 72 independent living rental apartment homes, 65 assisted living rental apartment homes and 38 residences for seniors requiring memory care services.
Responsibilities
The Human Resources and Business Office Specialist is responsible for the on-site accounting and human resources functions. Assist in developing services and/or programs to meet the needs of the Resident Community.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities of this Position:
Maintains positive relationships with residents, their families, staff and the community.
Responsible for the recruiting process which includes placing ads in local papers, recording and reviewing applications and resumes received, conduct background check and phone interviews, schedule face to face interview with perspective supervisors and conduct reference checks.
Conducts new employee orientation and completes required new employee paperwork, ensures that necessary paperwork is sent to the home office for set up in the payroll system.
Collects time cards and sends payroll information to the home office.
Provides tours and explanation of services to potential clients, families and referrals in the absence of the Sales and Marketing Manager.
Process billing, deposits and refunds for the community.
Responsible for accounts payable and receivable.
Collects monthly rents and all additional revenues.
Completes required insurance paperwork and assures payment for services delivered.
Is responsible for reporting to the manager incidents of suspected resident neglect and/or abuse.
Follows established workers' compensation policies and procedures, investigates and processes worker's compensation claims with carrier.
Manages the employee benefit program.
Maintains all employee files.
Assures community is in compliance with employment laws.
Assures financial policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
Makes timely bank deposits.
Responsible for assisting in preparation of annual budget and capital replacement plan, as well as fiscal management of the project with the Site Leader.
Ensures all bills are paid on time per procedure.
Handles resident and employee grievances and documents on appropriate forms for referral to supervisor.
Maintains open lines of communication with residents and staff to monitor levels of satisfaction/dissatisfaction and communicates to team if changes are needed in policy, procedure, etc.
Participates in Manager on Duty weekend rotation.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
This position requires a person who possesses a degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience which includes payroll processing, and HR practices. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, security and integrity of all documents.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
